Martin Parr has been photographing beach life over many decades, documenting all aspects of this tradition in the UK as well as in countries as far apart as China, Argentina and Thailand. This exhibition demonstrates Parr’s engagement with a cherished subject matter, where all absurdities and quirky behaviours seamlessly fuse together.
The VB Photography Centre’s summer 2021 exhibition brings Parr’s work to Kuopio. Colorful close-ups of oiled sunbathers and sandy picnic moments bring together all the fascinating personalities from their own personal paradise into one eccentric whole.
