Description

In the life and oeuvre of Guy Le Querrec, music holds a special place: he has created some of the most celebrated images of the 20th century, becoming internationally renowned for photographing the greatest living figures in jazz. Le Querrec documented the legendary American trumpet player Miles Davis from 1964 up until one of his last concerts in Paris in 1991. Speaking of the project, Le Querrec says: “I seek to recount the lives of musicians, their voyages, their fatigue, their joys, their practice sessions, their solitude, their hopes.” Pictured here, Davis plays at the Salle Pleyel concert hall, in the 8th arrondissement in Paris in 1969.
