Description

Nanna Heitmann’s ongoing project – created in Moscow’s Covid-19 lockdown – explores a subversive and surreal underworld constructed within the familiar domestic spaces of Russia. Pictured here is Nanna’s friend Andrey–he is a clown and puppeteer on a rooftop with Hotel Ukraina in the background.

Nanna Heitmann is a documentary photographer, based between Russia and Germany. She joined Magnum as a nominee in 2019.
