The Magnum Darkroom Collection presents an exclusive look into the darkroom, showing the making of iconic images from the 75-year-old archive. These facsimile prints, complete with mark-ups and notations from the printer, reveal the thought process behind how these images were interpreted, how the depth and layers were accentuated, and how the subject was brought to life. The collection, composed of ten 11×14” prints, celebrates the eye of the printer and the intimate art of developing in the darkroom.

Description

“Between” is the space where life happens. For Chien-Chi Chang in 2010, that space contained the end of one relationship and the start of a new one, a new home in Vienna before one in Graz, and a new language (German) at age 54 — just so that he could stay in the country. Jet Lag explores disconnection through the lens of a constant traveler over the course of 25 years. From airports and planes to hotel rooms and self-portraits, the gap between unfamiliar and familiar in a world of flux becomes a home of sorts, but often an uneasy one. In this image, time passes and just as much seems to change as to stay the same.

All Magnum Darkroom Prints are shipped flat and separately from other items in your order. If you order a framed Darkroom Print it will ship carefully packed in bubble wrap and a sturdy box separately from other items in your order. Please allow an extra 3 weeks for framing your orders.

Kindly be aware that shipments within Europe will be dispatched from France, while all other destinations will be fulfilled from the United States. Please note that all orders are subject to any applicable local duties and taxes imposed by the destination country.
