Description

Burt Glinn had a gift for capturing the soul of counter culture. His photographs immortalize the style and rhythm of the period spanning the 1950s Beatniks through to the 1960s hippie movement. In this iconic image, three of the 60s’ great artistic players – Andy Warhol, his muse Edie Sedgwick and her manager Chuck Wein – are pictured on a New York City street in 1965.

Burt Glinn became an associate member of Magnum in 1951, along with Eve Arnold and Dennis Stock, before becoming a full member in 1954. He served as Magnum’s president twice.
