Description

A true technical master, Burt Glinn was nothing if not versatile as a photographer. While he made his name photographing some of the most famous personalities of the 20th century, Glinn was equally at home making spontaneous portraits of the everyday. His receptiveness to his surroundings, coupled with a prodigious skill, led to some of his most recognized and acclaimed images. Pictured here, a young girl plays opposite the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

Burt Glinn became an associate member of Magnum in 1951, along with Eve Arnold and Dennis Stock, before becoming a full member in 1954. He served as Magnum’s president twice.
